About the Opportunity
The Risk and Compliance team plays a crucial role in supporting the company to achieve its growth objectives by providing high quality, agile and commercially-focussed risk oversight and regulatory advice. This is an opportunity to join a business at an exciting stage of growth and
change. The coming year will involve supporting ongoing regulatory change, strengthening and monitoring key controls, and helping teams manage risk as the business launches new initiatives. The primary objective of the role is to provide objective second line support to our UK business by executing a risk-based compliance monitoring programme. This will comprise undertaking high-quality deep-dive reviews into ManyPets’ regulatory compliance – and reporting to senior management on findings and actions. You’ll support and challenge stakeholders to mitigate risk and remediate breaches.
In this role, you’ll also support the UK business by helping to monitor controls and providing commercially focused advice to mitigate risk and promote compliance with our Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulatory framework. You’ll work alongside Risk & Compliance colleagues to advise on regulatory considerations related to growth and strategic initiatives, support regulatory change activity, and implementation of risk and compliance frameworks. We’re looking for a regulatory compliance expert who has experience in carrying out thematic monitoring reviews of areas relevant to a UK MGA to assess compliance with FCA regulation. You will carry out desk-based monitoring to evaluate adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies. You will be a skilled relationship builder and someone who can break down complicated requirements into something everyone can understand, meaning we can continuously improve outcomes for our customers. Reporting to the Group Head of Risk and Compliance, you’ll be able to provide second line assurance oversight to senior management and
the board. You will also have experience in providing compliance advice and a willingness to broaden your experience and knowledge.
Your Focus
- Develop and execute the annual compliance monitoring plan, conducting thematic reviews to identify and assess compliance across the UK business against applicable regulation (with a focus on FCA rules and guidance).
- Present findings to stakeholders, including senior management, and support commercially-focussed solutions to address compliance risk.
- Track and monitor corrective actions.
- Work closely with the wider Risk & Compliance team to stay up to date with regulatory changes and FCA supervisory focus areas.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance monitoring processes and requirements.
- Support the Group Head of Risk and Compliance and General Counsel on Internal Audit matters, including engagement with outsourced internal audit function.
- Leverage your internal stakeholder relationships to deliver actionable insight and advice that enables ManyPets to remain both compliant - and innovative.
- Build and maintain resilient working relationships with all levels of external stakeholders including our partners, regulators, and auditors.
- Interpret regulations or upcoming changes, providing commercially focussed and robust advice that promotes ongoing compliance.

What We’re Looking For
- You’re an established compliance professional with several years’ experience in risk and compliance within financial services
- You have deep knowledge of the general insurance market and customer journey, particularly:
- Product governance and fair value regulations
- Distribution compliance
- Consumer Duty
- Dispute resolution (“DISP”) rules - You are knowledgeable of all applicable regulations for our industry, including the FCA
handbooks, and UK data protection legislation. - You’re able to assimilate a range of management data, compiling information into conclusions and actionable plans in a way that everyone can understand.
- You'll have an impeccable understanding of and English - written and verbal – and be able to write reports and updates with minimal support, in a clear and connected way.
- You’ll have a good understanding of insurance.
- We'd love it if you had a relevant degree, ICA diploma or certification however your commercial experience are just as valuable!
Ways of working
On a typical day you’ll be working from a laptop with a screen, mouse, keyboard, and headset. You’ll be meeting your colleagues on Zoom and keeping in touch regularly via email and Slack too – we’d expect you to be using your computer for around seven hours a day. We’d ask that you have a distraction-free work area and a reliable internet connection with a speed of 25Mbps so you can work effectively. We’ll make sure you have the right home set-up that supports you in the role by providing best-in-class technology, money towards a desk, and vision support.
