About the Opportunity
It’s an exciting time to be considering a career with ManyPets! We currently operate as an insurance managing general agent (known as an “MGA”) and broker insurance products for our customers. We’re active in three different countries, which keeps our small (and perfectly formed!) Finance team very busy! We’re continuing to grow our pawprint and as such we’re looking to hire another person into the team.
In this role you’ll help us manage our month-end processes, payroll and resource management, audits, and accounting processes. We’ll look to you to share financial advice and best practise to stakeholders across our global business – adding value by overseeing our cash flow and sharing astute analysis of our spend.
You’ll have accountability and autonomy from day one, coupled with an environment where we’re open to new ideas and ways of working. We can promise you’ll be joining a business where your stakeholders welcome your insight and support, and you’ll make an impact to the health and wellbeing of pets around the world.
Your Focus
- Oversee the accounts of ManyPets and our subsidiary companies within the group.
- Ownership of our month-end and close processes, including:
- Sales reporting
- Group statutory reporting
- Consolidation
- Accounts payable and receivable
- Banking
- Cash flow reporting
- Completing subsidiary accounts
- Deliver our monthly sales reporting, distributing our internal sales reports to the wider business stakeholders.
- Operating expenditure analysis – specifically, pulling together management reports for key stakeholders and challenging spend versus targets.
- Report and analyse our payroll resource management plan, keeping track of spend across existing headcount and new joiners.
- Oversee balance sheet management, ensuring quarterly balance sheets are kept up to date.
- Input into our annual budget and reforecast cycles.
- Taking a key role in our external audit processes and ensuring they are completed on time and with a proactive approach.
- Maintaining regulatory compliance across all companies in the group.
What Leads to Success
Here are some of the individual skills we know will enable you to succeed in this position. If you don’t tick every box - don't worry. We can support you in both your personal and professional development:
- You take the initiative without too much support. You're accountable for delivery in an environment that is ever changing - and where you set your own outcomes.
- You embrace a scale-up environment where a pragmatic, and sometimes ‘scrappy’, approach is required rather than a perfectionist approach to get things done.
- You support others to deliver the best work possible, being there to guide, support and help unblock any problems.
- You enjoy responsibility and can deliver results to deadlines. You put your arms around projects, working side-by-side with your team to get things done on time and to budget.
- You know how to communicate and build resilient relationships with others across the business - you build rapport easily by being approachable.
- You take a structured approach to complex problems, use data to inform decisions and communicate clearly.
- You're curious - you like to be aware of emerging technology and opportunities to innovate.
What We’re Looking For
- You’ll need to be ACA / CIMA / ACCA qualified for this role.
- You’ve crafted a career within finance and be looking for an opportunity to try something new within a scale-up environment.
- You bring experience of using complex accounting ERP software (we use NetSuite, however any experience with similar software is fine).
- You are proficient using Excel, and comfortable using a range of SaaS products and learning new systems and software.
Inclusion at ManyPets
We believe diversity, belonging and inclusion are more than just words or things we should be 'seen' to be doing. Having diversity at the core of our business makes us stronger - and the responsibility for creating an inclusive workplace rests with all of us. If you'd like to read more about this, please download our Approach to Inclusion pack. We promise to give you the same opportunities as everyone else and we won’t discriminate against you at any point in the process. This includes how we source talent, our interview process, our conditions of employment (including pay) and feedback.
Hybrid-Working
We work from home and our company offices in the UK, so we've created our "Making Work, Work" guide which explains it all. We offer a fantastic range of company benefits to suit everyone in a remote-first world, with a focus on supporting our physical and mental wellbeing. Coupled with a generous holiday allowance and regular care packs, we’re always looking for new ways to look out for our people.
On a typical day you’ll be working from a laptop with a screen, mouse, keyboard, and headset. You’ll be meeting your colleagues on Zoom and keeping in touch regularly via email and Slack too – we’d expect you to be using your computer for around seven hours a day. We’d ask that you have a distraction-free work area and a reliable internet connection with a speed of 25Mbps so you can work effectively. We’ll make sure you have the right home set-up that supports you in the role by providing best-in-class technology, money towards a desk, and vision support. We’re open to discussing any adjustments you may need too – we’ll be in touch before you join to discuss what you need to be at your best.
Reasonable Adjustments and Support
If you need any help, support or advice at any point during the hiring process please email our Inclusion team in complete confidence. Our Inclusion team is made up of people from across our global business - and they are not the hiring managers for this role. We're here to make sure everyone has a fair and equitable experience when they're considering joining us. If you want to talk or ask any questions, we are here to listen (and we'll do what we can to flex our approach to a process that suits you.)
